If you’re in need of supportive counseling to talk through what’s going on in your life, make an appointment through our LifeLine (215.751.1111) to see a WIT counselor for individual counseling sessions.

Our counselors are trained, trauma-informed staff who will meet you where you are in your process. All sessions are 100% free and confidential.

Counseling begins with a comprehensive assessment of where you are now: What happened to you, and how can we support you?

At WIT, we want to support you as you move forward in your life, away from violence and away from substance abuse. Together with your counselor, you’ll create a goal plan that may include staying safe and sober, going back to school, or getting a new job – whatever you envision "moving forward" to be.

In addition to providing counseling, your WIT counselor will be your advocate. They will support you in a way personalized to your needs and goals, whether that’s assisting you in preparing for a job interview, accompanying you to Family Court, or navigating various systems in the city (Immigration, Department of Human Services, Criminal Justice, and behavioral health systems, among others).

At WIT, empowerment counseling is at the heart of our approach: we will never blame you for your situation or tell you what you should or shouldn’t do. Instead, your counselor will support you in gaining control over your life, choosing your own actions, and moving forward towards safety and sobriety.

For in-person counseling sessions, we offer Playcare for children during business hours upon request.

WIT has been the most encouraging support system, and they never gave up on me, even when I wanted to give up on myself.
