October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Every October, communities across the nation recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)—a time to honor and uplift survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and unite in our efforts to end abuse. What began as a single “Day of Unity” in 1981 has grown into a full month dedicated to education, empowerment, and action. At Women In Transition, DVAM is a powerful opportunity to elevate survivor voices, foster healing, and connect our community to meaningful change.

Please join WIT at its upcoming events-whether attending a session of the Empower and Educate training series or joining us for our 9th Annual Amplifying Our Voices on October 16, your participation help us to unite to raise awareness about domestic violence and how we can support survivors in not only finding safety but also in their journey towards empowerment.
