Do you have questions about Protection From Abuse orders, child custody, or dependency/DHS cases as a domestic violence survivor?

WIT and family law attorneys at Philadelphia Legal Assistance (PLA) are presenting free, virtual workshops around these topics for women-identified survivors of domestic abuse/intimate partner violence, with Q&A sessions to follow.

Workshops are held once a month during virtual Sister Circle peer support group sessions. The schedule is below:

  • Thursday, August 17: Protection from Abuse

    • Overview of PFAs, the PFA process and safety, followed by a Q&A session

  • Thursday, September 7: Child Custody

    • How the child custody process works and common concerns, followed by a Q&A session.

  • Thursday, October 26: Dependency/DHS Cases

    • What dependency/DHS cases mean for survivors & how to make informed decisions for your family, followed by a Q&A session.

  • November TBD: Support and Resources

    • Exploration of different support options and resources for the legal needs of women impacted by DV/IPV, followed by a Q&A session.
